Introducing: Aviator Arcade
Memory Lane
I remember heading to the local arcade, with my pocket full of spare change, ready to put my name on the leaderboard of Galaga. I did not know how much effort went into creating one of those huge cabinets or the game I was playing, but I did know how to play. The interface was simple: put in a quarter, grab the joystick, and push the start button.
Crypto is much the same. Many of us use this new technology but do not quite understand the backend. At Aviator, we aim to create a digital arcade that runs on our token. Physical arcades have many games, made by many different developers, and our vision is no different.
While games are the obvious forefront of any arcade, the arcade is truly dominated by the social experience of being together with others. Enjoying games new and old while targeting exciting prizes and high scores with friends is a remembrance of things past, lucid in our memories.
A New Kind of Arcade
In line with our mission statement, the Aviator Arcade will empower developers and the community. Aviator Arcade is a decentralized platform where any developer can create a game using a popular game engine and host their game in our arcade to earn royalties. The more popular games would earn more, bringing real competition to the space. Instead of having half-finished games pumped out for profit, the games hosted on our platform would need to be able to compete for your $AVI tokens.
Gamers care about one thing: fun, and this is the solution to bring Web3 gaming and traditional gaming together. Play-to-earn should be profitable, but it should be fun. Generally, we are not a fan of the term “play-to-earn” as it implies that profit-making is the only reason to play these types of games. Aviator Arcade is embracing a “play-and-earn” concept, where play is at the forefront. Web3 gaming will no longer feel like a chore but feel like a game again.
So what’s in it for you? As a player, what if you got a cut? High scores deserve to be rewarded, right? When you use your $AVI to play a game in our arcade, these tokens are added to a pool and divided into four different funds:
- Rewards for users achieving high scores on various games
- Profit-sharing for game developers hosting their games on Aviator Arcade
- Community treasury deposits
- Ongoing AVI burns
The precise tokenomics distribution will be included in our Flightpaper coming later this year.
Developers stand to earn more profits based on volume. Therefore, the more people who are playing their game, the more they stand to make. At Aviator, we are truly about community, so it is only right for the community to decide which game is the best and reward its developers accordingly.
Coinciding with our love of community, Aviator Arcade will have a deep social component. As we progress, details of the social scene will be revealed gradually. (dot)ac is for arcade!
DAO Update
Our DAO has been enjoying excellent voter turnout, averaging around 20% of the circulating supply participating in any given proposal. While this number seems low, it is well above industry leaders in the DAO space. This goes to show the energy of our community and their excitement for things to come.
This month, DAO voters will be presented with our Aviator DAO Constitution. This simple but powerful constitution shall codify all DAO rules for procedures, voting systems, and other guidelines that dictate the DAO. The community will be given the right to vote on ratifying all articles of the constitution, as well as given the right to govern amendments as needed.
While the right to create a proposal is currently reserved to the 3-of-5 multisig guardians, we are now introducing a streamlined process to submit proposal suggestions. This month, our website will be updated to allow direct proposal voting right from the site. Additionally, a button to submit proposal suggestions via email will be available on the website. For ease of use, a template will be automatically applied to the body of your email client. Our DAO proposal inbox is dao@aviator.ac.
Proposal Title: (What is the title of your proposal?)
Proposal Text: (Please include the complete text of your proposal as it would appear on Snapshot.)
Voting Options: (What options can users vote for?)
Your Username (optional):
Why should this proposal be published? (How will this proposal benefit Aviator? What problems does it solve? Why should it be put to a formal vote?)
May we contact you via email for more information on your proposal? (Yes/No)
Would you like to be credited if the proposal is published? (Yes/No)
Even though the website has not yet been updated, you can still submit a suggestion manually via email to dao@aviator.ac.
We have already experienced enormous interest in user-created proposals and expect several excellent proposals via email! Because of this, we have to be very selective of the proposals that get published to the DAO for voting.
To further encourage community participation, the creators of selected user-submitted proposals will be awarded $100 in AVI tokens from the marketing fund.
Wen Marketing?
Now! Following the results of our recent DAO proposal, 20% of the current Treasury account has been transferred to the project marketing account at aviator-marketing.eth. This is a new account created by our brand new head of marketing (wen reveal?) and is managed by a 2-of-3 multisig smart contract.
The funds in this account are controlled by the marketing team and are valid for exactly one quarter. At the end of every quarter of the year, all unused tokens (excluding a small amount of ETH reserved for gas) must be returned to the Treasury before being governed again by a new quarterly budget proposal. The marketing team is sworn to be highly strategic in the use of this fund to protect and grow the project.
Answering Your Questions
Our favorite part about what we do is getting the opportunity to interact with the community. As our team spends an extraordinary amount of time on our Telegram and around our Twitter community, we are very alert to community feedback and questions. We wanted to take some time to answer some common questions.
Q: Is the marketing team going to use all these tokens?
A: No. When you vote for the marketing budget, you are essentially voting on the maximum allowed, not the amount that will necessarily be used. It is highly unlikely the budget will ever be fully exhausted.
Q: Is this only one game? What’s the deal?
A: Nope! Aviator Arcade will be an entire Web3 gaming ecosystem, powered by AVI. We are introducing some in-house games to the platform over time, but it is open for all developers to host their games and earn AVI for doing so.
Q: When will there be a Discord?
A: We are currently waiting for more community growth before releasing the Discord community. Our community is growing fast, so this may happen in the near future. Stay tuned to our Twitter for updates! If it’s not on our website, it’s not real.
Q: How can I avoid and report scams?
A: Always make sure to check our official website and Twitter account! Remember, if it’s not coming from us directly, it’s likely a scam. Never sign any transactions you do not fully understand and trust, and never connect your wallet to any suspicious websites or apps promising free tokens or airdrops. Never give your seed phrase to anyone for any reason. Never send tokens to any website claiming to 2x, 3x, etc. your token holdings. You can report scams to us anytime on Twitter DMs or by pinging our staff in Telegram.
Q: How can I get involved?
A: That’s easy! Participate in the community. We are stronger when we all come together. Whether it be on Twitter, Telegram, Reddit, Instagram, Discord, or any other social platform you like to use, be sure to participate in our growing community and spread the love.
When we all work together, there is nothing we cannot accomplish.
